Get Beautifully creative….with your hair! Who knew there were so many hairstyles that were so easy to do! Now this was a book I was excited to get because I love to try new hairstyles for everyday or special occasions and this book did not dissapoint. There are 75 hairstyles you can do, ranging from difficulty easy to hard ( though I found most of the hairstyles fairly easy even when it says it’s hard). What I really love about this book is it addresses different kinds of hair like short, curly and straight/fine hair types, and since I have long straight fine hair, there were plenty of hairstyles for my hairstype to try! Though I’d say even if you do have a different hairstype than a certain hairstyle is for in this book, you could easily make it work for your hairstype and length.

There were styles in this book that I was very pleasently surprised and excited to see in this book because I have always wanted to try them but didn’t know how, or have tried and didn’t work so well mostly because the directions or pictures weren’t clear. The directions in each hairstyle is clear and straightforward coupling with pictures step by step which is a huge help.
The only thing I would have changed about this book are the pages, they are matte, and for a book literally full of pictures, I would have liked them to be glossy so the photographes popped more, but it’s not a big deal as the photographs are clear enough.

The Water Saving Garden Book Review

The Water Saving Garden is a beautifully illustrated book, rich colorful photography and filled with so much useful information on not only how to grow a water saving garden, but a beautiful garden as well. This book is good for those who live in drought areas, but also even if you don’t live in a drought area or want to use a whole lot of water, I think all in all its a good gardening book non the less. I don’t live in a drought area, I initially was interested in this book because it looked interesting and a just in case thing where there could be a bad drought or water shortage in the future. At first I was expecting alot of cactus type plants and less colorful plants to only be present in the book but I was pleasantly surprised on how many gorgeous and even colorful plants there are that use less water like claret cup cactus, which blooms beautiful red flowers on it, blue false indigo and Lewis mock orange as examples.
I’ve already learned something new and so much from this book on how to use less water for my garden, which types of plants thrive on less water and overall how to grow and present a beautiful garden.

Green Smoothies by fern green is a book packed with lots of delicious and nutritious smoothie, juices, milks and tonic recipes.
A small book, but really packed a punch, with beautiful and colorful illustrations on every ingredient needed for the recipe, plus a full page of the finished recipe.
I really was impressed with this book, not only at how beautifuly presented it was, but how many recipes there were and how relativly easy it was to make them. And another thing I loved is that the author lists the nutrition of the smoothie/juice/milk/tonic and what it will do for your health. Everything from a green rocket tonic juice which calls for coconut water,an apple, arugula and a green pepper which is a natural aphrodisiac and also aids in digestion and helps clear the mind to avocado smoothie (which I personally loved!) Which calls for half a cucumber, lemon, avocado, parsley leaves and dill sprigs which is high in chlorophyll and cleanses your vital organs to a flu kick tonic which calls for garlic, oranges, ginger, lemon and cayenne pepper and helps kick the flu’s butt when you are sick.
All the recipes call for easy to find ingredients using fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices and liquids and all the recipe ingredients compliment each other, and from personal experience are delicious ! I have made alot of these juices and smoothies and my energy levels and vitality have been going through the roof! I really love this book and would recommend it.

When Clowns Attack Book Review

When Clowns attack is a hilarious survival guide to clowns. Clown fans and people who are afraid of clowns will love this book, because it’s really funny and actually filled with useful Information. Small hardbook book, glossy pages and colorful all throughout the book. At times it seemed a bit too serious and sometimes you couldn’t tell if he was actually being serious or joking, but I guess that’s part of what makes this book funny and interesting.
There are alot of visual pictures of different types of clowns throughout the book, information on clown lingo, clown weapons , clown appearance, where you can find them, how to defend yourself, etc.
I think this would be a really great gag book for those people who are deathly afraid of clown, but it wouldn’t probably make them laugh too.

Lucky Peach presents: 101 Easy Asian Recipes is the first cookbook from the food magazine Lucky Peach, which is a quaterly food and writing journal.
Now I’ve never read the magazine, but this book was amazing. First off, the cover really cought my eye, bright bold and crisp, and delicious looking, the book is a nice sturdy hardcover spanning 271 pages. Full of delicious Asian Recipes that come from all over Asia such as Japan, china and Thailand, this book is sure to please any Asian food lover, like me.
The book spans about 17 parts, or chapters you might call them which looks like this:

image

Starts off with a introduction which lays out two rules for this book:

1. No Frying
2. No Subrecipes

Good rules I might say because I hate frying. Then this book goes on too listing all the stuff you will need like equipment, stuff in the panty like rice and noodles and sauces, and the books ends off with dessert, acknowledgements and the index.

I haven’t tried any of the recipes yet, but I have my eye on a couple of them that I want to make this weekend. Most if not all of the recipes look delicious and better yet, they look very very easy to make, which I really love. Pictures accompany most of the recipes so you can see how the actual recipe looks like and how it turned out, which takes up a whole page on the right side of the book.

I really loved everything about this book, but I thought the dessert part fell short. There are only two recipes in the dessert, and one of them is oranges…which doesn’t really have any recipes for it. I just wish there was more recipes in the dessert chapter. Other than that, I have no complaints about this book, I can’t wait to get cooking, this book would be a great gift for any Asian food enthusiasts out there :).

Energy Oracle Cards Review

image

I just got this one recently, and already It is one of my top 3 favorite decks I own (and I own well over 17 now), I really resonate with this one and when I work with it and hold them they bring me peace and are very accurate with all the readings I have done so far. I really love how all the cards just glow! And I also love how they are all mostly gold with the green band on the bottom, the colors compliment each other in this deck. This Energy Oracle deck is like a cross between a Tarot deck and Oracle because this deck has some cards based on the tarot ( the sun, the world, and some cards not named after the tarot but have alot of similarities like the card all tied up and journey.) And what makes this deck also one of my favorites is because the cards can be reversed too, Sandra Ann Taylor provides revered meanings to the cards, as well as upright and she also provides a affirmation for each card at the end of the descriptions (which I totally love since I am a big fan of the power of affirmations !) And another thing I loved about the cards is there are chakra/archangel cards.

As for the artwork, I like most of the cards but there were some I didn’t like, like the cards with too real looking human faces which are a little creepy to me lol, but I can look past it because everything else is wonderful, there is a nice mix of both dark and light cards, instead of all the cards being super fluffy and light, so if you are someone who only wants to see super positive, fluffy, good cards full of light and love all over, then these cards probably aren’t for you. Though I am not saying they are frightening because they are not.

The card feel and stock is very nice and thick and smooth, and it’s actually refreshing for these cards to not have the gold or silver edges on them like most other decks from Hay House (Doreen Virtue). And I find the thickness and strength of the cards to be superior to Doreen Virtues cards. All in all I am very glad I got this deck because it is very accurate, insightful and beautiful.
